1: Presentation and Discussion Session Chaired by Christina Preston

Geoff Elliott:
Reflecting on how effective mobile technology is in re-engaging the un-engaged
.
The mlearning project loaned advanced PDA-phones to 16-24 year old NEETS.  A methodology evolved over the three years of the project to mentor young people through SMS, voice, Mobile-format applications, and installed multimedia resources. We made mistakes but learnt a lot about what does and doesn't work. This session will give you an insight into these points and more.

Leon Cych: The Use of Immersive (or Virtual Worlds) in engaging learners
In this workshop Leon will outline and explore various uses of Virtual Worlds. He will outline what you need to do to map out your project and engage learners in an Immersive Environment; the pitfalls to avoid and the necessary planning and infrastructure needed to make everything run smoothly. He will be drawing on plenty of video exemplars of projects already undertaken by other educators and putting and linking to numerous online exemplars.

2: Presentation and Discussion Session Chaired by Tim Davies

Gavin Evans and Angharad Jenkins: Swansea Big Brother Project by Swansea Youth Service and Urdd/Menter Iaith Abertawe
In this session, Gavin Evans from Swansea Youth Service and Angharad Jenkins from Urdd/ Menter Iaith Abertawe share their experiences of running a 'live' big brother event for different groups of young people in Swansea supplemented by a live blog. They will share the motivations for the projects, the planning and delivery, some unexpected outcomes and the many positives that they gained from it.

Tim Davies: Making Digital Youth Work Work
Exploring different dimensions of digital youth work - from recognising how practitioners should be aware of the impacts of the Internet in their everyday practice, to imagining new ways of working through digital technologies. This session will explore a range of scenarios where digital tools and work with young people collide, and will offer participants a chance to explore some of the practical issues that anyone working with young people in this digital age need to take into account.

3: Presentation and Discussion Session Chaired by Sangeet Bhullar

Ruth Hammond: Practical Measures in eSafeguarding
