WISE KIDS Conferences
[2010] [2008]
[2005] [2004]
Over the years, WISE KIDS has organised a number of conferences
exploring the themes of Young People and Internet technologies.
Below are the links to the different conference resources.
WISE KIDS - WISP conferences on
the 1st and 3rd of Feb 2010:
"Young People in a Digital World 2010 -
Preparing, Supporting and Inspiring"
WISE KIDS organised
two, one-day conferences in Wales together with the Wales Internet Safety
Partnership (WISP) entitled
Young People in a Digital World 2010 - Preparing, Supporting and
Inspiring,
on the 1st and 3rd of February
2010 in Swansea and Bangor
respectively. These conferences were also held in part to support
European Safer Internet Day which was on the 9th of February 2010.
The conferences
had similar, though not
identical programmes. Whilst covering some awareness issues, they
focussed on implementation: what
government, industry and professionals are doing to
prepare, support and inspire young people as they live in an
increasingly digitally connected world; to ensure that they are
able to use these technologies effectively, innovatively and
safely. Click

2005: Young People and the Internet"
"Teen Works 2005: Young People and the Internet"
was a one day conference
organised by WISE KIDS as part of ICT Forum Wales 2005 to explore young people's
awareness and use of the Internet and mobile phones, and look at
current and upcoming trends in this area. It also aimed to look
at current research and guidelines in this area, and provide
relevant examples and strategies that young people and adults
could use to take advantage of the Internet and mobile phone
technologies, whilst ensuring their personal safety.
The conference was held at the Dylan Thomas Centre in
Swansea.
