WISE KIDS provides training programmes and consultancy to
promote positive and safe Internet use, i.e. awareness of new
Internet and mobile applications and technologies, Internet
proficiency, Internet literacy and safety issues. These
programmes promote better awareness of the Internet and the
content, technologies and services that it offers. The
programmes also provide knowledge and skills of opportunities
provided by these technologies, not only in terms of providing
access to information, but in education and learning, creating
content, connecting people, encouraging contribution,
participation and the development of services that are of
benefit. Areas like new mobile phone technologies and their
relevance and integration with the Internet are also covered.
WISE KIDS training programmes also provide awareness of Internet
safety and literacy issues from grooming in chat rooms and cyber
bullying, to inaccurate information online, spyware, spam and
scams like phishing. The programmes also cover safety awareness
with mobile and wireless technologies, and knowledge and
strategies to manage these issues.
WISE KIDS training programmes are appropriate for young people,
parents, youth workers, librarians, teachers, social workers and
community groups, or businesses and other organisations seeking
to promote staff professional development. All training
programmes or workshops can be customised.
