A New Language
On the Internet, most people communicate through text, whether
through email, newsgroups, message boards, or presenting
information on a website. And often because we cannot see the
people we interact with, we miss out on the normal bodily cues
that tell us how people may be feeling or reacting. Like whether
the person you're talking to was smiling or laughing when you
said something. Or whether they scowled....It is difficult to
translate emotions.
On the Internet, there are also
symbols or emoticons that you can use to add expression to your
text message. The following are a sample of some of the
emoticons that you see commonly. To view an emoticon, you have
to tilt your head to the left and view the pictures.
